TECH WINS: Tech companies to watch in 2022 | MN companies invest in the state

Fast Future COUNTRY—Midwest startup and tech community Purpose Jobs has unveiled its list of startups and tech companies to watch in 2022. Detroit-based Autobooks won the first spot on the list among startups from Ann Arbor, Chicago, Columbus, Cincinnati, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, and Pittsburgh. Companies were evaluated based on recent funding, significant employee growth, impactful product launches, office expansions, recent IPOs and upcoming exits.

PITTSBURGH, PA—Starting in 2022, Pittsburgh will be the new host of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS) Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (GMIS). The conference brings together policymakers and manufacturing industry experts, with a focus on the use of advanced technology such as AI and robotics.

MINNESOTA—Eleven Minnesota businesses are investing up to $607 million in the state, leveraging DEED awards totaling $6 million—a little less than $3 million from the Job Creation Fund (JCF) and a little more than $3 million from the Minnesota Investment Fund (MIF). The projects are expected to create 658 new jobs.
