Nashville-based hospital chain HCA Healthcare, Inc. has struck a deal with Google to develop healthcare algorithms using patient records. These algorithms will help monitor patients, improve operating efficiency and help guide doctors’ decisions.
Smart toilets? I guess it was just a matter of time. Artificial intelligence (AI) has entered a new realm of service. Duke University scientists are developing an AI tool to be added to the standard toilet in an effort to analyze the stool of patients with bowel diseases. The technology will provide gastroenterologists with the data necessary for more accurate diagnosis and treatment.
An experimental diabetes drug from Eli Lilly outperformed a long-acting form of insulin. The drug, tirzepatide, led to superior reductions in A1C (a measure of blood sugar) and body weight. Eli Lilly is preparing to seek regulatory approval later this year.
