FUELING THE FUTURE: New fund in Indiana | ProQuest to be acquired | IU Angel Network

SOUTH BEND, IN—The Judd Leighton Foundation announced a new fund aimed at investing capital into high-growth, high-potential early-stage startups located in north central Indiana. The Leighton Elevate Angel Development (LEAD) Fund is launched in partnership with venture development organization Elevate Ventures.

MICHIGAN—In a series by Crunchbase News that examines access to capital in the U.S., it found that Michigan is the state with the largest percentage growth in VC investment between 2016-2020. New investment highs were also reached in North Carolina and Minnesota.

ANN ARBOR—Software and information company ProQuest LLC is set to be acquired by British technology firm Clarivate PLC in a $5.3 billion deal expected to close in the third quarter of this year.

BLOOMINGTON, IN—Members of the IU Angel Network have invested $90,000 in Sentinel Occupational Safety, a company preserving the lives of professionals in high-risk sectors, such as health care, fire departments, law enforcement and manufacturing.
