Fueling the Future: Apple’s $430B investment; Kansas City’s Repica raises $41M; & Accelerate Blue
- Apple is committing $430 billion in U.S. investments over five years. Part of that will fund a new North Carolina campus and engineering hub that will create at least 3,000 jobs in AI, machine learning and other tech.
- The University of Michigan’s Accelerate Blue Fund, an early stage venture fund, has made its first investment. The recipient is Movellus Inc., which provides tech for semiconductor chip design.
- Hungry Planet, a St. Louis startup that makes plant-based meats, has raised $25 million in a Series A financing round led by Post Holdings Inc.
- Kansas City, MO-based tech startup Repica has received $41 million in Series B funding, led by San Francisco, based VC firm Founders Fund..
- The Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority in Pennsylvania has approved up to $2 million for 412 Venture Fund LP to invest in Pennsylvania startups.
