Airway is now initiating a Phase 1b clinical trial for the protein replacement therapy, known as AT-100AT-100, for use in COVID-19 patients to confirm its feasibility, safety and tolerability.. Baptist Health; Zero readmissions with monitoring platform When the pandemic hit last year, Baptist Health in Louisville was in the middle of piloting an AI-powered remote monitoring platform for CHF and COPD patients. They pivoted to use it for COVID-19 patients and the result was that they achieved zero readmissions with those patients. Special mask destroys virus' ability to infect A researcher from the University of Dayton Research Institute designed a mask that is coated with silver nanoparticles that destroy the COViD-19 virus’s ability to infect. Tech key to survival of restaurants during COVID-19 Kansas city-based Menufy develops e-commerce software and custom websites for restaurants to enable online ordering. The tech was key to the survival of many restaurants during the pandemic. Pollution and severe COVID-19 Researchers at the University of Cincinnati have found that long-term exposure to polluted air could increase the risk of severe COVID-19 in people with respiratory diseases like asthma and COPD.
