Clinical services startup lands $9M

COLUMBUS, OH—OFFOR Health, a company that brings mobile anesthesiologists and on-site clinical services into dental and medical practices, landed $9 million in a Series A funding round. AXA Venture Partners led the Series A round, with MBX Capital, SpringRock Ventures, and LOUD Capital also investing in the startup. The Series A funding will go toward developing and scaling OFFOR’s last-mile care delivery model.

New H-STEM complex in Michigan

HOUGHTON, MI—Michigan Tech University has broken ground on its H-STEM Engineering and Health Technologies Complex. The facility will increase Michigan Tech’s footprint in health-related fields and research capabilities, giving the university a flexible laboratory space for both H-STEM and the adjacent Chemical Sciences and Engineering building.

Healium wins NFL pitch contest

COLUMBIA, MO—Mental health, wellness, and performance training company Healium offers a product that allows users to learn to self-regulate their focus and calm by giving them the ability to see their EEG brain patterns or heart rate in near-real-time. The company was just crowned the $50,000 winner of the NFL Players Association’s annual pitch contest.

IU gets $12.5M for immunotherapy research

INDIANAPOLIS, IN—The Indiana University School of Medicine has received a $12.5 million gift from the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer in Fort Wayne. IU says the funding will support new immunotherapy research efforts for breast cancer treatment.
