Blue Water Vaccines raises $20M in initial public offering

CINCINNATI, OH—Blue Water Vaccines, a biotech company that launched in 2015 to develop a vaccine for protecting against all types of flu, held an initial public offering that raised $20M. Blue Water’s stock rocketed 538% following the IPO.

Medical device company announces collaboration

CLEVELAND, OH—Medical device and technology company Lazurite Holdings today announced a new phase of collaboration with University Hospitals (UH) Ventures, the innovation and commercialization arm of University Hospitals Health System in Cleveland, which will include an investment from UH Ventures. The amount and details of the investment were not specified.

Humana and UofL partner on Health Innovation Hub

LOUISVILLE, KY—Humana and the University of Louisville are investing up to $25 million in a Health Innovation Hub with the goal of advancing health equity and outcomes for marginalized populations. The hub will focus on research, talent development, entrepreneurship, and skills to attain better jobs. Dr. Monica Wendel, a public health researcher with experience addressing these types of issues, will lead the hub at UofL.
