AI algorithm developed at Purdue and IU
DANVILLE, PA—Along with Japanese pharmaceutical company Eisai, Geisinger Health System will study the potential of artificial intelligence by testing the effectiveness of an algorithm to identify individuals with cognitive impairment who may develop dementia. The algorithm was developed and tested by researchers at Purdue University and Indiana University.

EVANSTON, IL—A Northwestern University-led research team is developing a new way of measuring physician adherence to best practices. The data-driven method takes into consideration the characteristics of the patients seen by a physician (how sick a patient is, for example) in order to estimate an adjusted performance that more accurately captures the know-how of a set of physicians.
