Jumpstart Nova’s $55M fund | Quartix secures $20M | MN startup investments top $1B

  • CHARLOTTE, NC—Fintech company Quartix has secured a $20 million funding facility from two Fintech credit funds with a potential to increase the credit facility. Quartix connects middle-market buyers, their vendors, and institutional investors, allowing buyers and vendors to pay or collect invoices whenever they want, regardless of payment terms.
  • WEST LAFAYETTE, IN—Insignum AgTech and Verility Inc., two companies founded by Purdue University alumni, have received $100,000 each from the Purdue Ag-Celerator, an agriculture innovation fund. Insignum AgTech creates plants that warn growers of an early-stage infection so that crops can be protected. Verility Inc. is a global animal health platform providing fertility analysis products.
  • RALEIGH, NC—North Carolina State University could teach some other schools about raising money. Its fundraising drive, called Think and Do the Extraordinary, that ended on Dec. 31, raised over $2 billion. More than 128,000 donors contributed, half of which were university alumini. The money will go to funding scholarships and toward some infrastructure improvements.
