CLEVELAND, OH–Microbiome company Biohm raised $65 million in equity financing, which the company intends to use to fast-track the growth of its AI technology. The round was led by VTC Ventures, with participation from Felton Group, LLC, Jobs Ohio Growth Capital Fund, Aztec Capital Management LLC, Cleveland Life Science Advisors, Valley Growth Ventures, LLC, and Jump Start, Inc.

Indy conversational AI company announces $20M in Series B funding

INDIANAPOLIS, IN–Software firm Authenticx uses conversational AI to analyze customer services interactions in the health care industry. The company has announced $20 million in Series B funding led by Blue Heron Capital with participation from Beringea, Indiana Next Level Fund/50 South Capital Advisors, High Alpha, Mutual Capital Partners, Signal Peak Ventures, Allos Ventures, Elevate Ventures and M25. Authenticx plans to use the money to innovate machine learning and product engineering and to fuel sales efforts.

Cybersecurity firm raises $16.4M

LENEXA, KS–Cybersecurity company SpiderOak, which offers a platform that reduces the attack surface of satellites and damages the ability of adversaries to jam and disrupt space communications, has raised $16.4 million. The Series C round was led by Empyrean Technology Solutions, a space technology platform backed by funds affiliated with Chicago-based private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners.

Agtech startup to grow robotics-based tech

LAWRENCEVILLE, PA–Agtech startup Bloomfield Robotics has landed $4.4 million in external funding that it will use to grow its robotics-based tech in the specialty crop industry. Osaka, Japan-based agricultural machinery company Kubota Corp. and Bordeaux, France-based wine producer Oeneo Group invested in the company.
