$52M in new research funding to The Ohio State University

COLUMBUS, OH–The Ohio State University has been awarded almost $52 million in new research funding from the National Science Foundation to create a new research center for advanced manufacturing. OSU will partner with Case Western Reserve University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Northwestern University, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville along with industry and technical organizations to develop and implement new manufacturing technologies for high-performance and high-quality components.

Detroit get $25M grant to build Mobility Corridor

DETROIT, MI–The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and city of Detroit have been awarded a $25 million Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) discretionary grant for the Mobility Corridor. The project includes the construction of a shared use corridor along approximately two miles of Michigan Avenue that will include non-motorized facilities, installation of new dedicated transit, and connected and autonomous vehicle lanes.

Tesseract Ventures gets contract with Air force

OVERLAND PARK, KS–John Boucard of Tesseract Ventures announced that his company has been awarded a $1.25 million direct-to-Phase II SBIR Grant with Whiteman Air Force Base. The company will develop technologies that will aid the Air Force in advanced data visualization, enhanced situational awareness, location tracking of supplies, and resources. Building a product discovery pipeline

OMAHA, NE–Renewable chemicals company Bluestem Biosciences is focused on the sustainable bio-production of chemicals. The company announced a pre-seed financing round of $5 million, led by Zero Infinity Partners, that will be used to build a team and product discovery pipeline powered by Bluestem’s proprietary digital biology architecture.
