- DES MOINES, IOWA—MidAmerican Energy proposes a $3.9 billion renewable energy project in Iowa that will explore wind and solar generation and new technologies to advance the company’s transition to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
- OVERLAND PARK, KS—The co-founder of Dropbox has donated $500,000 to the Blue Valley Educational Foundation. Arash Ferdowsi is a 2004 graduate of Blue Valley Northwest High School and wants to support exceptional educational opportunities for students.
- INDIANAPOLIS, IN—A tech startup that launched last year out of Indy’s High Alpha venture studio has closed on a $1.5 million seed round of funding. The Juice has a platform that connects sales and marketing professionals to an on-demand hub. The funding round included participation from High Alpha Capital, Indianapolis-based Elevate Ventures, and Service Provider Capital, as well as angel investors.
- DETROIT, MI— After losing out on an $11.4 billion investment by Ford Motor Co., Michigan state lawmakers passed a hefty business incentive package to attract investment in the state. As a result, General Motors Co. is investing $6.5 billion at two Michigan sites for electric vehicle and battery production.
